Last night I went to a party at MAKEatx, the workshop where I do my lasercutting. Inventables.com was on hand demoing their new browser based technology Easel for Shapeoko, which everyone got to try out to make a customized bottle opener. If you are in Austin, go check it out at SXSW Create today and tomorrow.
Recent tiny doodles.
I’m getting back to work on this piece after finally finding the right shades of floss to finish the gradient.
I’m teaming up with a yarnbombing friend to make some collaborative pieces for #atxfreeartfriday during SXSW. Follow us on Instagram (@ katiecowden and @ professorcrochet_os) for your chance to grab one of these pieces! We will also have some larger pieces up at the HOPE Outdoor Gallery for a SPRATX event.
From doodle to prototype. I made these ginko leaves from scrap acrylic I found during a laser session.
I’ve had this piece lying around for awhile now and would love to sell it. $300 or best offer.
Great Poseidon’s Beard!
Hand embroidered and appliqued wool/rayon blend felt. At just over a yard long, this is the biggest piece I’ve ever done.
There’s an art yard in my neighborhood that has a rather large Gnome population. I’ve been taking a picture every time I walk by.
Recent phoneography pictures, edited with VSCOcam.
I painted a whale! This piece was laser cut from Baltic birch and then I painted it a blue-gray and went over it with white and metallic blue acrylic paint to make patterns. The whole thing is 30 inches long.
"Dick Avery: When I get through with you, you’ll look like… What do you call beautiful? A tree. You’ll look like a tree."
All photos taken with my Samsung Galaxy phone and edited with VSCOcam.
More of my tiny doodle book. I’m getting pretty close to the end!
